Vassilios P. Kozobolis was born in Athens, Greece (1958). He was graduated on 1983 from the Medical School, University of Messina, Italy. Doctor Medicinae (Dr. Med.), University of Messina, Italy (100/110). He acquired his specialty in Ophthalmology at the Hippokrateion Hospital of Athens in 1991. Afterwards, he completed two fellowships in Glaucoma and Refractive Surgery at the University of Crete. In 1997 he realized his PhD on Exfoliation Syndrome and Exfoliation Glaucoma in the University of Crete, Medical School (excellent with honors).

He was consultant of Ophthalmology in the National Health Security Service in Athens (1992), Assistant Professor of the Institute of Technology and Education of Athens, Department of Optics and Refraction (1992), major Registrar in Ophthalmology at the University Hospital of Heraklion, Crete, and head of the Glaucoma unit and of the Mobile Ophthalmological Unit in the same University hospital (1993 - 2002). During this period he was also a member of the research team of the Vardinoyannion Eye Institute of the University of Crete (VEIC) and he was focused on glaucoma and refractive surgery while followed for several months the works of the departments of Ophthalmology in Greece (Dpt of Ophthalmology in Pediatric Hospital of Athens "Aghia Sophia" and University Eye Clinic in Athens) and other European countries (England, Switzerland, Italy).

In 2002 he was elected Associate Professor of Ophthalmology in the Democritus University of Thrace, Medical School in Alexandroupolis, Greece and head in the Department of Ophthalmology in the University Hospital of Alexandroupolis. In 2004 he founded the Eye Institute of Thrace (E.I.T.) in the Democritus University of Thrace in Alexandroupolis focused on Glaucoma, Refractive Surgery and basic sciences. In 2005 he patented (European Patent Office) a new device in Ophthalmology, the intraocular (endophakic) tonometer.

In 2007 he founded the Eye Bank and Corneal Transplantation Center in the University Hospital of Alexandroupolis.

He is Author and co-author of various articles in peer reviewed scientific journals and reviewer in several journals in Europe and USA. Fluent in Greek, Italian, English. He specializes in various surgical techniques in anterior segment (cataract, glaucoma, refractive surgery, corneal transplantation). On November 2007 he was elected full Professor in the Democritus University of Thrace in Alexandroupolis.

Labiris Georgios

Dr Labiris graduated from the Medical School at the Semmelweis University. He completed his postgraduated studies (MSc) at the California University in Santa Ana. He was awarded his PhD title at the University of Ioannina. Prior to his appointment as a lecturer at the Medical school of the Democritus University of Thrace, he served as a consultant of Ophthalmology at the University Hospital of Larissa, in Greece.

Paparnaki Katerina
Paparnaki Katerina holds a degree in Economic Science from University of Macedonia and a diploma in Management Accounting and Costing (Association of International Accountants). She has worked as an Assistant Financial Manager and Business Consultant for 4 years. She has been working in E.I.T. as Administration Manager since May 2012.

Sideroudi Haris

Haris Sideroudi has obtained a physics degree and MSc in material science at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece) and a Phd in chemical engineering department in association with the eye clinics at University of Patras (Greece). She has experience in ophthalmic equipment and now she is working in E.I.T as a scientific contributor specialized in ophthalmic equipment technology.

Giarmoukakis Athanassios

Athanassios graduated from the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2007. Since November 2008 he works as a clinical and research fellow at E.I.T. with a clinical interest on corneal diseases and Refractive Surgery. Since February 2010 he is a PhD Candidate at the Medical School of the Democritus University of Thrace, focusing on contemporary glaucoma management.

Bougatsou Nagia

Graduated from the Medical Faculty of the University of Patras in 2010.Since March 2011 she works voluntarily as a clinical and research fellow in Ophthalmology at the University Eye Clinic of Alexandroupolis and in the Refractive Surgery and Keratoconus Division at E.I.T. of D.U.TH.

Tsaragli Efi

She holds a degree in environmental engineering from the Polytechnic School of Democritus University of Thrace. Since January 2009 she is working at E.I.T. as a scientific associate, coordinator of the research protocols, responsible for the corneal transplantation center and is an experienced operator of the imaging devices used in ophthalmology

Koukoula Stavrenia

Stavrenia Koukoula was born in Thessaloniki in 1976. She graduated with honors from the Arsakeio High School of Thessaloniki. She was awarded with a placement in the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. As an undergraduate student, she did part of her studies at Cochin-St Vincent de Paul University Eye Hospital in Paris.
From 2003 to 2010 she worked as a research fellow at the Greek Centre of Research and Treatment of Ocular Diseases (ΕΛΚΕΘΟΠ), where she specialized in Refractive Surgery and Keratoconus.
From 2006 to 2010 she trained as an ophthalmologist at the University Eye Clinic of Alexandroupoli Hospital.
She has participated in numerous conferences in Greece and abroad. At the moment she is completing her PhD thesis with subject: "biochemical abnormalities in glaucoma". Many of her papers have been published in greek and foreign scientific journals.

Fountoulakis Nikitas

Mr. Nikitas Foundoulakis has obtained a medical degree in the Kapodistrian University of Athens. He has worked as a house officer in Department of Pathology, Cardiology, and Surgery in General Hospital of Corinth (Greece) and in Department of ophthalmology of General children's Hospital of Pendeli (Athens). Till October of 2004 he is a PhD candidate at Democritus University of Thrace. Also he was worked as Scientific Associate Doctor at the Department of Ophthalmology University of Thrace, E.I.T. From 2008 to 2011 he was trained as an ophthalmologist at the Eye Clinic of Patission Hospital in Athens.

Aristeidou Antonis

Doctor Antonis Aristeidou was born in Athens on May 1976. He has graduated from the Medical School of the University of Ioannina. He has been an Ophthalmology Resident in: Serres General Hospital and G.Papanikolaou General Hospital for 4 years. Moreover, he has been a Fellow at the University Hospital of Alexandroupolis for 2 years, in the Refractive Surgery Division (Laser for Myopia, Hyperopia and Astigmatism, as well as in Cornea Diseases like Keratoconus, that is being treated with the new method of Ultraviolet Radiation). On December 2010 he was obtained the Ph.D. title from the Democritus University of Thrace, with a Distinction Grade.
Due to his expertise, the doctor is running 2 offices in Thessaloniki and Limassol and he accepts patients from Greece and Cyprus under appointment.

Gkika Maria

Maria Gkika graduated from the medical school of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2006. She is a PhD Candidate in Medical School of Democritus University of Thrace and she has worked in EIT with a clinical interest on refractive surgery and a research focus on UVA collagen cross-linking treatment of keratoconus. From 2008 she is training as an ophthalmologist in 424 Military Hospital of Thessaloniki

Pagonis Georgios

Mr.Pagonis has obtained his medical degree at the " Carol Davila " University of Medicine in Bucharest. He has worked as a house officer in the Health Center of Skiathos and acquired his specialty in Ophthalmology at " Thriasio " hospital in Athens. In 2009 he was worked as a consultant of Ophthalmology at the University Eye Clinic of Alexandroupolis for about two years.

Karabela Konstantina

Mrs. Karabela Konstantina has a nursing degree from Nursing School of Alexandroupolis and she has successfully completed her nursing training at University General Hospital of Alexandroupolis. She has worked as nurse for a year in U.G.H and since September 2007 she is working in E.I.T.
